- Started journey from designing Dark Mode and got to know the team and the product during the project timeline. 

- Designed mobile view of complex excel bifurcated data with multiple navigation in collaboration with external client.

- Work out Multibroker Execution in Strategy Builder with Senior Front-End Engineer and CEO.

- Worked with Founding Growth Manager and CTO to deliver regulatory product design, landing page and ads creatives and managing time along the way.

- During the end invested time in the whole design journey of product end-to-end from ads to product design to docs and product launch creatives.

Worked as solo designer initially on their partner B2B SaaS product Tagembed and then after merger got to work collaboratively with a team of total 3 designers. Designed around 50 blog banners and more than 8 landing pages, microtool, an autopilot feature, 3 journey maps, pop-ups, ads, email newsletter during my internship and all went to production.

Executed the design of my first landing page as a solo designer. Learned about spacing, type scale, used illustrations, learned auto-layout and components and implemented it. Directly worked with the Founder and gathered requirements.

Worked as solo designer. Became proficient in tool of trade i.e. Figma. Planned, managed and redesigned their smart home mobile app called HalonixOne with manager, lead and QA.

Implementing dark mode and deprecating light mode hard coded colors.

Design Systems, Figma Variables, Alias, Mapped, Accessibility

 with existing user base of light mode and accessible for some of the user base using old screens or monitors.

Step 1: Identifying the color and their use case in front-end.

Step 2: Find appropriate replacements seeing the color use case and no. of times the color is used.

Looking into the sites like Binance (Fintech Trading based) and taking inspiration from dark mode chrome extension.

Binance was using high contrast dark mode which does not satisfy our use case. Looked for less contrast inspiration from mobbin like Fey.

This is a live project published in June 2024.

Some features which were introduced later were not compatible to dark mode as they used opacity or hard code colors. There like also some places where images are used and the codebase were not made to handle different images for light mode and dark mode at scale.

Platform Wide Dark Mode

Design mobile view for risk dashboard which comprises of multiple navigation bars and bifurcated rows.

Too much bluff in the beginning, I know. Lets start with the desktop view to get the gist of what we going to get into. 

The task was to make it mobile responsive.

How to start ? Lets see it top-down. What we are looking at is a top navigation bar which already had a mobile view. Problem Solved.

Than there are three different navigation tabs lets count how many views that makes of the bottom sheet which will change with each navigation.

It is not as hard as it looks like. Also there is so much things which for a non trader doesn't make sense. So slight knowledge transfer here. 

Live trade and Forward Test have almost similar views

. Live trade is trading in live market. Forward test is basically paper trading where no real money is involved. So only Broker tag is different which changes from "XYZ Broker" to "Forward Test". What it means for a designer is half of the views are eliminated. 

Which lefts us with 6 views. Now Builder Strategies an Trade Bridges have different logic of creation but same view of the bottom data just one difference is Trade Bridge introduce one more view that is Signal View which we were already counting and shown in the above diagram. Which in turn eliminates half more view. Which lefts us with 3 different views

So what are the 3 views. The signal view screen is already shown at the top the other two view are shown down below.

Now blur your eyes and see them as an excel sheet. Remove all the navigation elements on the top as we have already solved for them.

Whats the first this that comes to mind for converting this into a mobile view because that was the task. Nothing? I have got you covered. Read the great article by Joe Winter

Here is a gif of what design I choose to convert these complex excel data into mobile view. This handles the drop-down elements of each card in every view (Strategies / Positions / Signals) as it makes sense to show the collapsed elements of each card first than expanded view elements can be hidden inside a click.

Now the plan is to convert a single row of 

into a card and make do the crazy 8 exercise to find the version with maximum correlation with 

Why do crazy 8 instead of just creating a single view of each row instead of finding a design with best hierarchy

, too much ambiguity and the time was ticking (3 days for the whole design). More importantly 

the card should be similar for each view so its easier to scan

. Here are the card variation for each of the three views.

Also the card was taking too much screen space so I came up with the collapsed version for each and a toggle to expand and collapse can be put at the top.

What would come inside after clicking the card was also with a view details toggle. Here is the design for them in Positions View

There are some problems here. Expand view/Collapsed view with view details, Monitoring limit was unnecessary in mobile and may create problems for even smaller screen (less than 376px width) etc. So after some iterations the designs that were finalized upon are below but that was when the lead came into play and did some changes and I moved on to the next project.

The final designs are these (for Positions View) with some minor changes after feedback and iterations but the overall design philosophy is same.

Mobile View for Bifurcated Excel Type Data

Implementation for Static IP for Algorithmic Trading Platform for regulatory purposes.

SEBI mandating Static IP connection with broker account for algorithmic trading firms for accountability, traceability and security. Initially implement for 

than mandate (out of scope of this task). 

So what is an IP? for all the CS majors and IT folks out there get back to the drawing board if you not know about IP address. For everyone else "

Its a unique numerical label assigned to each device connected to a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication."

Now comes the question why SEBI requires Static IP to be linked to any Broker Account. For accountability, traceability and security.Yes we all heard of it. Although dynamic IP are scalable for large scale networks by reusing some IP addresses and limited IPv4 addresses but it makes them less traceable. Static IP addresses in contrast more prone to attacks, offers stronger authentication mechanisms like 2FA and OAuth which makes up for their static nature. 

The mandate was going to be implemented on a later date not a sudden change so some the design can be precautionary first to get user used to of these IP connection and staying ahead of the regulations than SEBI will mandate it one by one or the brokers would get their Static IP connection verified (that's some grey area that I don't want to gent into right now). 

Now the technicalities is out of the way we can move to the part we are here for "The Design of Static IP Connection" 

This was initially a simple project according to the requirements but had more and more complexity as I went on designing. Firstly there was only a single page ("Broker Setup" -> My Brokers) that need to be changed with minimal changes this particular page and the pricing popups added to them. Also a management dashboard added along with that page in same top hierarchy in nav bar (lets call it "Static IP Dashboard" or "Static IP").

Here are old design of "My Broker" before I put in the magic of design (keeping in mind the constraints)

The following is already implemented back-end handed to me. Keep calm and read that in one go.

"Static IP can be bought and it would can be in three states. Provisioning, Active, Expired.

Keep also this in mind you can assign one IP to multiple brokers. Let's say you are trading for your family and each one of them have a different account you can assign single Static IP to each of those accounts. But say you have some clients who you are trading for than you have to assign different IP to each of those accounts on AlgoTest platform in an ideal world.

Keeping implementation in mind how would the design of 

User should be able to copy their Static IP address in one click.

These were the final designs that were made for precautionary Static IP. AlgoTest also offers multiple broker accounts of each broker through their Multi-API Plan. That would't be hard to implement seeing how well this case in handled in Broker Setup page on AlgoTest when you have a Multi-API Plan (basically multiple accounts of single broker).

 Mandate was implemented after I left AlgoTest and also there were some minor changes to some screens but you still can see the project live on official AlgoTest website.
